Marc Pana, DDS, MS

Dr. Marc Pana grew up with an interest in dentistry and orthodontics, as he comes from a family of dentists. Both his father and brother are dentists.
He followed his interests and earned his Bachelor of Science in General Biology from the University of California, San Diego. He went on to attend University of Southern California (USC) School of Dentistry to obtain his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree. A hard-working and dedicated student, Dr. Pana was on the Dean's Honor List every year during dental school, and was also awarded the J. Walter Reeves Memorial Award for outstanding achievement in basic sciences during his four years at USC. He was also one out of 14 students selected into the Problem-Based Learning program, where he was chosen to be a PBL facilitator as a third-year dental student. As a facilitator, he taught first- and second-year dental students in biological sciences.
Dr. Pana then completed his 3-year orthodontic training and residency program to earn his specialty Certificate in Orthodontic and Dentofacial Orthopedics from USC, one of the most prestigious orthodontic programs in the country. As an orthodontic resident, Dr. Pana was an Orthodontic Clinical Teaching Assistant. He also received a Master of Science degree in Craniofacial Biology with emphasis on the causes of root resorption. His master’s thesis focused on root resorption that could occur in orthodontic treatment and the best way to treat patients who are prone to this problem, so he is very knowledgeable on this particular ailment as well as knowledgeable in craniofacial orthopedics.
While obtaining his extensive education, Dr. Pana was involved with many community service activities. He provided orthodontic care at Inglewood Children's Dental Center, offering free dental care to the children of Los Angeles and Orange County through AYUDA. He also served his peers by being the Vice President of the Student Research Group at USC.
An esteemed member of the orthodontic community, Dr. Pana also won the first prize in the American Dental Association Scientific Session in 2002-2003.
Dr. Pana likes to stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in the orthodontic industry by upholding memberships in many professional organizations, including the American Association of Orthodontists, the Pacific Coast Society of Orthodontists, the American Dental Association, the California Orthodontists Associates, the California Dental Association and the Orange County Dental Society.
Dr. Pana’s commitment to his community isn’t merely as an orthodontist, but also as an involved citizen. He gives back to his local community by offering pro bono orthodontic treatment to underprivileged children through the American Association of Orthodontists. As well as, donating free orthodontic treatment to different schools and organizations. Dr Pana is a big sports enthusiast and encourages his patients to be involved in different sports by sponsoring many of their teams. Away from the office, Dr. Pana enjoys basketball, football, hiking, biking and playing chess.
